A Tour On The OJC Badging Criteria
There are 6 Catagories of Badges, these are the school Values: Hauora, Innovation, Relationships, Excellence, Inspiration and Integrity; and within these Catagories there are 3-4 sub catagories also known as the Badges. These are given numerical values/names for example, in the Hauora category there are 4 sub-categories, these are: Hauora 1, Hauora 2, Hauora 3 and Hauora 4
You might wonder, we does OJC use Badges? But there is a perfectly valid reason ... Add reason Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. Minima id suscipit perferendis eos illo magni repudiandae, ad quia aut. Saepe beatae eveniet, et praesentium unde voluptate ab ut totam iure, dicta consequatur quibusdam! Cumque nesciunt vitae est facere tenetur maxime.
If you are pitching for a badge , you are proving that you have complete this certain badge OR this certain part of the NZ curriculum, anyway lets get to the examples. If I was to pitch for Innovation 1, I would be proving that I understand this Badge or this part of the curriculum. Now, there are many ways to actually pitch a badge, many decide to create a simple slide show and tackle each criteria of the badge, or you can pitch with Canva (A infographic maker), Pages/Notability (both are One Pager platforms) or you can just go with a slide show, but be warned. It can get quite boring with a slideshow.
Well, lets get straight to the point- when you pitch a badge there are 3 levels you can get;and they are all in-line with the NCEA grading system, if that makes any sense. The OJC badge grading system kind of clones the NCEA grading system, Achieved = Emerging (Meaning you understood the criteria), Merit = Effective (Meaning you understood the criteria and linked it to many learning areas e.g Numeracy, Literacy, TAIP etc etc) Excellence = Exemplary (Meaning you understood the criteria and applied it to your own like or you learned something from it)
